You must be thinking if this Ng Hai Yim is the next Singapore Idol when you read the title – Best Singer in Singapore. Wrong! I think he is too old and too much over-weight (I wanted to say fat) to enter the Singapore Idol contest or any of the MediaCorp’s 偶像 contests. He just happened to be my best drinking kaki at KTV pubs for the past 18 years!
Karaoke Singing Session
We had our half-yearly drinking/karaoke session last night – Hai Yim, Peter Tan, Sam Ho and I. We all agree that Hai Yim has the best vocal and singer among us.
We really enjoy the Hai Yim songs, especially after 2 mugs of cold beer. My friends probably thought I was drunk when I said Ng Hai Yim will soon be the best singer in Singapore when people google for this phrase.

When people searched for best singer in Singapore, they would expect to see Stephanie Sun or some Singapore Idol/Project SuperStar contestants. It should not be our Ng Hai Yim!
But do you really go and enter the phrase: best singer in singapore? Probably not Singaporeans. They know who is their best singer.
Hopefully this blog will make it to the first page of Google. Then I will be able to know if people actually use the search terms best singer in singapore and where these searches come from.

Currently MediaCorp has this talentime show on Friday afternoon featuring those 40 years and older. Hai Yim can register for it for the next season. Good Friends of Hai Yim should just register him and give him a lift to stardom to be the Best Singer in Singapore ….. Friday 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm Golden Age Talentime 黄金年华之斗歌竞艺 (second telecast on Sundays at 3 am, third telecast on Tuesdays at 12 pm, fourth telecast on Thursdays at 6 am)… I think the show is still on. I thought Mr Shi was merely joking when he said he wanted to do this. But hey, being the SEO Master he got it done within a day. But I am kind of embarassed that he came out with something preposterous like this. Stephnie, Tanya, Hady, Taufik, etc will be hopping mad. Ha! Ha!
