For the past year, I have been travelling quite a bit and this year I’ll probably do the same. So, I will visit this year’s Natas Fair 2012 to find out the latest favorite destinations and check on the prices of package tours to a couple of places. I want to visit Mongolia and Korea. I reckon package group tours will be the better option than free-and-easy package because the language barrier.

Pre Natas Fair 2012

In order to find out as much information as possible on these 2 countries before I visit Natas Fair 2012 at Singapore Expo, I also googled for pre natas fair promotion on these destinations. To my disappointment, there wasn’t any useful information. I was hoping that bigger tour agencies in Singapore, such as Chan Brothers, CTC Travel or SA Tours will advertise or publicise when and where they’ll hold their Pre-Natas Fair promotions. No info on that either. Not giving up, I asked my friends via Facebook and was told that many, if not all the Pre Natas promotions are held at Suntec City over the weekends.

I need your help…

I agree to the advice on arriving an hour after the official opening hour. Two years ago, I was arrived at Singapore Expo just before 10am and have to queue for 20 minutes to get in. When I was leaving after an hour or so, there was no queue.

iPad 2 Singapore Price

At the time of writing, there is no official annoucement on the iPad 2 Singapore pricing yet. However, it is not hard to guess how much the each model of the iPad 2 will cost in Singapore.

Steve Jobs announced that the price of the new iPad 2 will be similar to that of the first generation iPad. So we could just assume the Singapore prices to remain the same.

Initial Reactions to the 1st generation iPad

Apple sold 15 millions iPads in the first 9 months of the initial launch in April 2010 and generated US$9.5 billions in revenue.

When I first viewed Steve Job’s keynote announcing the iPad and discovered about the affordable iPad price, my reaction posted on Facebook was…

“iPad… Why only $499? I want it now!”

“if you have an iPhone, Life Will Not be Complete Without the iPad!”

However, I also discovered that not everyone loves Apple products. Some of my Facebook friends said:

“iPad, No Multitasking, No Buy”

“guess it is just like iPhone .. just BIGGER”

“The iPad (the name is soooo =_=|||) is disappointing. No SD card slot, no drag-drop, no USB port, no flash (!), no camera…a whole lot of new accessories to buy. Will wait for the Android-powered tablets, Asus is coming up with one soon.”

MrBrown thinks “Apple’s iPad is a giant iPod Touch“.

And people are already mocking at the iPad – the other kind of pad?!

In less than 6 months of using Windows Vista on my brand new VAIO, Vista died one morning and refused to boot because it detected a hardware error. I think Vista is a piece of shit and makes Sony VAIO a shitty piece of hardware. When I finally got hold on a Ubuntu CD and installed on the same machine, it work fine.

So it’s not the hardware fault. And it definitely cannot be me, the user’s fault. And I don’t remember having such problem with Windows XP for the past 5 years.

I love the simple and quick installation of Ubuntu. In fact it take less time than try to re-install Vista using the recovery DVDs.

I decided I will give Ubuntu a try for the next 6 months. It will not going to be easy to switch to Linux after using Microsoft OS for the last 20 years!

I like Singtel’s inSing.com and I think it’s a winner. As an internet directory, it is easy to use and as a food, shopping, entertainment portal I couldn’t stop clicking further into the portal. There are so much to explore in inSing.com…

I had been to the top of Bukit Timah hill many times but today is my first trek at Bukit Timah nature reserve. We did not take the usual route but the more difficult off-the-map route which took me nearly 3 hours to complete.

This Bukit Timah trek organised by Kian Ann was more challenging than my usual 11km route around MacRitchie Reservoir. I think the trees at Bukit Timah are taller than those at MacRitchie Reservoir. And the beautiful scenery… Singapore Quarry view from Seraya Hut is stunning.

I am posting this as I’m attending the eBay Workshop by Mark Yoong. The morning session was fantastic – it really opened my eyes on eBay selling. Oh, yes! the training place is pretty high-tech – look at all those projectors and screens. It’s lunch break now and the food tastes really good…
