iPhone 3GS Bluetooth Not Working

I was disappointed to find out that the iPhone bluetooth is Not working as expected. This is the first phone with bluetooth which I owned that is not connecting with my PC. I have used Nokia and Sony Ericsson bluetooth to connect my PC and backup my phones. With iPhone, the only way is to use the USB cable to connect to your PC.

The iPhone crippled bluetooth can use bluetooth earpiece or bluetooth headset.

iPhone does not support:

  • Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
  • Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
  • Basic Imaging Profile (BIP)
  • Basic Printing Profile (BPP)
  • Cordless Telephony Profile (CTP)
  • Device ID Profile (DID)
  • Dial-up Networking Profile (DUN)
  • Fax Profile (FAX)
  • File Transfer Profile (FTP)
  • General Audio/Video Distribution Profile (GAVDP)
  • Generic Access Profile (GAP)
  • Generic Object Exchange Profile (GOEP)
  • Human Interface Device Profile (HID)
  • Intercom Profile (ICP)
  • Object Push Profile (OPP)
  • Personal Area Networking Profile (PAN)
  • Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
  • Serial Port Profile (SPP)
  • Service Discovery Application Profile (SDAP)
  • SIM Access Profile (SAP,SIM)
  • Synchronisation Profile (synch)
  • Video Distribution Profile (vdp)
  • Wireless Application Protocol Bearer (WAPB)

iPhone 3GS Bluetooth with Windows Vista

As for the new iPhone 3GS, Windows Vista may the the culprit that prevent proper communication over bluetooth. My Vista kept asking to look for “Bluetooth Peripheral Device”?! Apparently, Vista does not have a driver to support iPhone 3GS bluetooth profiles.

I had learned a lot about i phone. Got a 3Gs, was happy and excited to have one but all my excitement went into the wall when i came to know that apple has joked with it’s customers on the name of iphone.
Basic features which are common in very cheap phone are not there in 3GS.
What a fun?
I really rate it as a stupid device having no customer friendlyness.

No blue tooth connectivity with other phones are windows

No photo editing

No Business card support

Even many other common features are not found.

Apple i hate u for that joke

Its for all dose who r finding problem with the sharing of files via bluetooth…u can download ‘celeste’ from cydia and can activate it from sb by just slinding left or right on the taskbar… Once it get activated..u can easily send or receive file with any phone ..

Nothing Works…..have tried all of the above mentioned ideas, still nothing. I love the phone but it may end up in my daughter’s pocket as she does not need bluetooth. I have a beautiful car that I love and I can’t even pair up the phone to it. It’s the only device I want to pair up and it won’t. My opinion of iphones has changed dramatically in the last two hours.
What a piece of shit…how hard can it be to get bluetooth right when everyone else seems to get it.

Well as you can see from all the unhappy folks out here, the iPhone (3Gs,4.x) will apparently:

1) NEVER connect via Bluetooth to the PC,
2) will NEVER sync with Outlook,
3) will NEVER allow Tethering w/o whacking the thing in the head (jailbreaking) or some hidden flashlight sync app… that was pulled from the apple store.

—> Hey, If that isn’t a blatant “nana, nana, boo-boo you can’t have this aaaapp” in your face from Apple, I don’t know what is!

—> Let’s face it, we all have been suckered and i believe it’s by design. One of the two doesn’t want to play nice with the other guy (company) under the hood.

Apple or Microsoft… I’m leaning 99% toward Apple being the piss’e one here (consider Flash as another biggie too)!

Come’on guys fix the thing! How hard can this be to get Bluetooth to sync correctly with PC?

Now, just one other thought set to music.

How long has this been goin’ on?
How long has this been goin’ on?

Well, your friends with their fancy persuasions
Don’t admit that it’s part of a scheme,
But I can’t help but have my suspicions
‘Cause I ain’t quite as dumb as I seem.

And you said you were never intendin’
To break up our scene in this way,
But there ain’t any use in pretendin’,
It could happen to us any day.

How long has this been goin’ on?
How long has this been goin’ on?

How long?

(how long has this been going on ambrosia)

Unhappy iPhone owner

VZW’s iPhone4 won’t pair reliably with my ’09 Infinity G37s. Other phones do. Takes 3 to 5 tries to get the pairing to take, but within an hour the car and iPhone can’t connect to each other. Verizon and Infinity just point their finger at the other guy. Not too user friendly in my book.

Talked with a mate who’s had Apple stuff since back when it was genuinely advanced compare to Msoft (so that’s about 20 years ago) and even he was despairing about the iPhone.

It’s going back. I’m not paying that sort of money for half a phone. I can’t imagine what a crap experience the onanists who bought an iPad must be having right now with that triumph of design over function!

Overpriced under-specced toss. Apple = Crapple.
Never ever again.
